“Breaking into Biotech” Workshops

In partnership with the Office of Postdoctoral and Visiting Scholar Affairs, the Division of Biological Sciences, and Alumni Relations, the Career Services Center is pleased to offer a 2 part series of “Breaking into Biotech” workshops for Masters, PhD students and Postdocs interested in Biotech Industry positions. UC San Diego alum Jon Miyake, Technical Support Manager at Illumina, will present these workshops. Also, Jon is interested in hiring UC San Diego people and has multiple positions available.

Working in Biotech: Types of job opportunities

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work in Biotech? Or questioned what types of jobs even exist in Biotech? Are you interested in learning more about Illumina, ranked as the #1 “world’s smartest company?”  Do you like free food? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, come to the first in the “Breaking into Biotech” series with UC San Diego PhD alum Jon Miyake, technical support manager at Illumina. These answers on how to be a competitive applicant and more will be addressed the second session in the “Breaking into Biotech” series run by an Illumina insider, Jon Miyake, a UC San Diego PhD alum, who is currently technical Support Manager at Illumina. And by the way, he’s hiring!
