SUMMER RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES at Eli Lilly and Company – in San Diego

Eli Lilly and Company has two internship opportunities available for May 2015 — here in San Diego!

Eli Lilly and Company is looking for interested students to complete a short work assignment within the Discovery Chemistry division.

We are looking for motivated students who desire a career in chemistry. Positions offered are 12-week assignments beginning in May 2015. Each student will be assigned a project, which will allow him/her to actively contribute to the company and build understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and Eli Lilly and Company. Students will interact with other professionals, including exposure to Lilly senior management. A wrap up presentation to the respective scientific team will be an expectation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical solutions to a real-world project.
Work individually with supervisor to determine and achieve project goals.

General Skill Requirements:

Currently enrolled in a BS program related to the above area.
  • Strong academic performance.
  • Knowledge code in Perl (preferable) or Python to help characterize conformational preferences of small molecules.

Specific Opportunity Details:

  1. First Internship Opportunity: Requires ability to code in Perl (preferably) or Python to help characterize conformational preferences of small molecules

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Minimum 2 semesters of organic chemistry lecture and 1 semester of organic chemistry lab.
