Mammalian Cell Culture Technology Workshop Grants

UC San Diego Extension will be awarding grants to UC San Diego graduate students, postdocs, and staff which can be applied towards the “Mammalian Cell Culture Technology Workshop”.  The course will be held June 3-5, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., at the UC San Diego campus, with a special site visit to Genentech.

Developed in partnership with UC San Diego’s Center for Continuing Education in Biosciences (CCE|BIO), this 3-day workshop is designed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the performance of mammalian cell culture operations throughout the product and process life cycle from process development to full scale manufacturing under current Good Manufacturing Practices. In addition to cell line and process development, this workshop will explore insights into technology transfer, scale–up, and operational aspects.

Please see the flyer (MammalianCellCulture_Overview.Agenda_UCSD) for more information or visit extension.ucsd.edu/lifesciences.

The grants will be in the amount of $1000.00, which will cover a portion of the workshop tuition.  The person awarded the partial grant will be responsible for paying the remainder balance of $595.  In order to be eligible to receive the grant, the applicant must be a UCSD graduate student, postdoc, or staff member.

Please fill out the application (see attached) in its entirety.  All applications must be received by Wednesday, May 13, 2015.
