Career Development Week

March 27-30

Master’s and PhD Career Development Week

If you’d like a job, then the Master’s and PhD Career Development Week is for you, regardless of whether you haven’t started thinking about a career or are already hitting the pavement. This week-long series of events is designed to help graduate students and postdoctoral scholars explore career options outside of academia, prepare application materials, learn powerful networking techniques, and master the interview. Refreshments will be provided at all events.\

The week opens with a Career Exploration Panel on Monday the 27th from

5-7pm: come learn from industry experts who have already made the transition from academia to industry. The panel will feature Kelly Anne Brown, Assistant Director of UC Humanities Research Institute and Humanists@Work; Ken Lau, Technical Marketing Manager at BioLegend; alumna Sara Shen, Associate at Strategic Earth Consulting; and alumnus Tarun Soni, Chief Engineer at Northrop Grumman.

An Industry Mixer caps off the week on Thursday the 30th, from 4-6pm.

Employ what you’ve learned to make connections with top-tier companies, including Illumina, Intel, and McKinsey, that are searching for talent.
