2017 BASF Science Competition – Submissions Due May 19, 2017

As part of BASF’s “We Create Chemistry” strategy, BASF Corporation presents the following challenge for the 2017 North American Science Competition: What chemistries can be used to develop a Class A coating finish on Carbon Fiber Composites?

Students and postdocs are encouraged to participate.  The competition is designed to help further develop your creative potential, communication and networking skills. Take advantage of this exciting opportunity and participate in this engaging and competitive team event.  The finalist teams, of up to 4 team members, will receive cash prizes and will be awarded an all-expense paid trip to the BASF site in Southfield, MI for the final event on August 24-25, 2017.

The proposal submission period is April 3, 2017, through May 19, 2017. Submitted proposals will be evaluated based on their scientific and commercial merit by experts in the field. On June 2, up to 5 proposals will be selected as finalists. The finalists will be provided help in developing a pitch for their proposal to be presented to a judging panel of BASF executives.  The winner will be selected during the idea pitch event held on August 25, 2017 at the BASF location in Southfield.
