Summer Undergrad Research in Chemical Evolution

  Center for Chemical Evolution Undergraduate Summer Research Program

      The Center for Chemical Evolution (CCE) is currently recruiting students for our 10-week, paid undergraduate summer research program. We are seeking undergraduate students at all levels who have an interest in chemical sciences and research who are also U.S. Citizens or permanent residents. Students are paired with leading research professors in diverse chemistry disciplines, all focused on the study of chemical evolution and the chemistry associated with the origins of life.
The Center for Chemical Evolution is an NSF/NASA Center for Chemical Innovation. Centers under this program are focused on productive collaborations to answer long term, fundamental challenges in chemistry. The CCE is working to understand how life may have emerged from chemistry.
The summer program dates vary depending on the adviser chosen. Possible research locations include Scripps Research Institute (San Diego, CA), Georgia Tech (Atlanta, GA), Furman University (Greenville, SC), and the University of South Florida (Tampa, FL).

The application deadline is Feb. 15, 2017. Participants are assigned to a research mentor, and are paid a minimum $5000 stipend in addition to a travel allowance; on-campus housing is provided.
