Job Location: San Diego, California

Position requires a BS Degree & 5+​ yrs. experience cell biology bench work, not molecular, working with Liquid Chromatography,  preferably in Proteomics, but not required.
This position is a research based bench position, not instrumentation.​  Developing immunoassays and proteomics sample preparation. [ Sorry, will not consider Ph.​D candidates. ]

 

An emerging diagnostics company focused on mass spectrometry based biomarker discovery. Currently we are looking for flexible and enthusiastic people who are inspired by innovation. The successful candidate will join a team that focuses on mass-spec based platforms to discover, validate and identify protein-based biomarkers. As a key contributor to the preparation of samples for proteomic studies, this position requires industry experience in proteomics sample handling and preparation. This position operates within a fast-paced industry setting, so flexibility and energy are required. Under the direction of senior team members, specific responsibilities will include:

 

·       Biological sample preparation for Mass Spectrometry analysis.

·       Ability to troubleshoot immunoassays and provide timely updates to colleagues.

·       Perform routine laboratory duties such as instrument cleaning and calibration, organization of laboratory supplies and logging large sample sets.

·       Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and utilization of LIMS.

·       Write and review SOPs, development reports, and documentation.

 

 

Requirements:

·       B.S. In Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or related Biological Science 5+ years of industry experience, preferably in cell biology or proteomics.

·       Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot immunoassays.

·       Excellent with oral and written communication skills.

·       Experience in a GLP, GMP or CLIA environment is desirable.

CLINICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST (CLS) – Growing Company Working On Cutting Edge Scientific Research

Job Location: San Diego, California

Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS)

Exciting, growing company working on cutting edge research in the field of proteomics.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing assay validation, CLIA testing and reporting test results. Will be responsible for performing technical and scientific processes and procedures in a moderate/high complexity CLIA certified laboratory.

Will perform high complexity laboratory tests according to approved policies and procedures for all phases of testing; pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic, as well as general laboratory systems. This position will also perform troubleshooting, maintenance and calibration of instrumentation and equipment used to perform the testing.

Duties will include:

• Performs clinical laboratory assays to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
• Analyzes test results and enters findings in computer.
• Performs quality control studies to ensure accuracy of clinical data.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure.
• Verifies instrument performance by checking and calibrating specific lab instruments and documents data.
• Records on instrument logs any repairs, replacement, and maintenance needed of equipment.

Requirements:

• The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in the chemical, physical or biological sciences and at least two years of related experience in a clinical setting.
• Knowledge of molecular biology and/or medical genetics is required.
• Experience in Mass Spectrometry is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Internet Applications.
• Must be professional and ability to work well under pressure and time frames. Must be able to multi-task, be a self-starter and dynamic team player who possesses a strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written skills.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: A current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required. American Society for Clinical (ASCP) preferred. He/She must meet the requirements for Testing Personnel under CLIA regulations (42 CFR, part 493).
